Short of the epic match at Wimbledon… It is another five-setter at Australia Open. And the same results. Roger Federer lost again to the maturing Nadal. It just seems that Nadal has found a way of playing that really demoralize his opponent. He’s probably the best defensive player to grace the tennis scene, like Verdasco will say, you need to win a point 3 times against him. It is so frustrating how he keep retrieving impossible shots, and turn them into winners…
It is not just an awesome rivalry, but it could boil down to the best tennis player ever. Federer is short of 2 slams to become the best…Nadal is stocking slams, and I am pretty sure he will complete a career slam and maybe a Grand Slam (winning all four slams in a calendar year)… Its all looking an unlikely goal for Federer. However, I think he can be proud of what’s he has achieve… but like all champions faces.. he will have to face the passing of the baton, where he won’t be winning all the time. And many will remember Agassi’s emotional farewell at his last US OPEN…
Finally! Djokovic ended Nadal streak this week with a blistering first set. 6-1 7-5. I hope he beats murray tml. I like what Djokovic said, Nadal had won all that matters. Nadal won the crucial matches that would have seen Djokovic taken over his World No. 2 ranking. Ironically, while Nadal is preparing to become the World No. 1 player, he conspire to lose Djokovic, a lost I believe matter little to him. Given the current setup, he’s very poise to end the year as No. 1 given the fact that Federer still has to defend his US Open Title, and Djokovic needs to reach the finals.

i am watching Wimbledon from 11:30 p.m. til now.. 4:27 a.m….. But no regrets.. I watched the greatest final of all times on Wimbledon. Federer down 2 set, came back 2-2… and lost 9-7…what an incredible match. I was biting my finger… twiting my finger, giving my sister live telecast on my BB messenger.. The last time i did that was during the UEFA Champ Lge final between Manutd and Chelsea. The emerging of new generation led by NADAL. sad to say i would really like to see both of them at the same age.. to really know who is better. Federer belong to a generation where he’s king, and nadal is emerging.. They just at different stage of their career. US Open, nadal can become the world no.1 but that will be too cruel for Federer, to end the year without a single grandslam. Looking forward to Aug… for US Open!!
